Indexing Java Applications

JVM support: source analysis today, compiled class/JAR recovery in the extension build.

There are two routes, depending on whether you have the source.

You have the source

The open-source build has no dedicated Java analyzer. Java repositories still get value from the language-neutral passes: file and directory objects, Git history, documentation, SQL files, dependency manifests and cross-references. For deeper Java structure, an out-of-tree analyzer can be added through the extension seam.

You only have compiled classes

.class, .jar, .war and .ear are handled by the same extension build as .NET (Indexing .NET Applications): types, methods, signatures, fields, the call graph, branch structure, constants and I/O boundaries, read from bytecode in-process with no JRE required.

Statement-level recovery (RFC 0150) is .NET only; for JVM the recovery is at structure and control-flow level.
